Gladys Rowena Smith, 90, of Springfield died at 8:12 p.m. Wednesday at Springfield Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Nov. 4, 1901, in Taylorville, the daughter of Hugh and Eva Jane Kivitt Ellett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Smith, four brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Smith was formerly employed by Illinois Bell Telephone Co. for several years.
She is survived by one nephew, Howard Ellett of Springfield, several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Roselawn Memorial Park, with the Rev. Vaughn Beeman officiating.
