Charles died when he fell into a trench and was buried alive by a bulldozer. The trench was being excavated for a new government housing project on Hancock St in Lawrence, MA. The work, on the over 2 million dollar project, had only begun a week prior to the accident.

The funeral of Charles Daigneault, seven-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. George J. Daigneault, of 68 Hancock street, was held recently with services by the Rev. W. Robert Wentworth, pastor of St. Mark's Methodist church. Interment was in Bellevue cemetery.
