Lydia A. Butler, 90, of Scottsdale, Ariz., died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002.

She was born March 26, 1912, in Conneautville, daughter of the late Frank and Lydia Wilcox Bortner. She formerly lived in Erie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Butler; a son, Gerald Butler, who was killed in the Vietnam War; an infant son, Richard Butler; two sisters, Mabel Moser and Mary Irish; and a brother, James Bortner.

Survivors include two daughters, Sally Page and her husband, Jack, of Fontana, Calif., and Margaret Fortney, with whom she lived; two sons, William Butler and his wife, Dorothy, of St. John's, Ariz., and James Butler and his wife, Susan, of Harborcreek Township; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may attend a graveside service today at 2 p.m. at St. Gregory Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Dusckas Funeral Home East, 2607 Buffalo Road.
