HIGHMORE – Fayette B. Weber, 84, of Highmore died Saturday, September 14, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Pierre.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 17, at the United Methodist church in Highmore with Reverend Roger Day officiating. Burial was in the Highmore City Cemetery.

Fayette Burnell Weber was born November 10, 1906, to John and Leta (Bishop) Weber of Peno Township, Hyde County.

He married Una K. Hoff in March 1930. They lived in Peno Township for 17 years where he was engaged in farming and ranching with his brother, Emmette. In 1947, he moved with his family to Highmore where he worked for Tompkins Tire Repair, Hague Construction, Farmers Union Oil and was a self-employed plumber until his retirement.

He served as township treasurer and was on the Highmore city Council for several years, was a member of the Highmore Fire Department and a past member of the Masons and Odd Fellows.

Survivors include four children, Joan Doxtator of Albuquerque, NM, Marilyn Kutz of Highmore, John Weber of Minneapolis, MN, and Richard F. Weber of North Bend, OR; a brother, Emmette, of Highmore; four sisters, Nell Ankrum, Alice Hague, Bernice Tompkins and Kathryn Reynolds; thirteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
