Howard Leon Ward, age 94, of Cadiz, KY, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at his home in Cadiz, KY. Mr. Ward retired from the Chicago Transit Authority. He was a US Army WW II veteran & a member of Cadiz United Methodist Church in Cadiz, KY. He was a member of the Cadiz Masonic Lodge No. 121 & past member & Master of Mystic Star Masonic Lodge No. 758 in Chicago, IL. He was a member of Ophelia Chapter No. 55, Order of the Eastern Star in Cadiz, KY where he had served as past Patron & Deputy Grand Patron. He also previously served as Grand Representative to Iowa for the KY Order of the Eastern Star. He is survived by: Wife of 69 1/2 years - Josephine Ward, Cadiz, KY, One Brother - Archie Ward, Evansville, IN, One Sister - Ruth Phelps, Indianapolis, IN, Sister-In-Law - Ethel Korycki, Chicago, IL, Several Nieces & Nephews & a Special Family Friend- Ben Helen Burkeen, Cadiz, KY. He was preceded in death by: Parents - Jesse & Zephie Wilson Ward & Three Brothers- Charles Ward, Thurston Ward & Alton Ward. Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main St. in Cadiz, KY where the family will receive friends after 4:00 PM on Thursday, November 12, 2015 with Masonic Rites to be held at 6:00 PM. Funeral Service will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Friday, November 13, 2015 with the Reverend Jamus Redd & Reverend Scott Wilson officiating. Burial with full military honrs will follow at East End Cemetery in Cadiz, KY.
