Born in Spring City, PA, he was a son of the late Robert M. Sr. and Dorthiea (Voigt) Michener. Robert was a graduate of Pottstown High School and attended Oklahoma City University. He was an architect for 35 years, having owned his own business, RMM & Associates. He enjoyed model railroading, visiting auctions and buying collectibles. He loved his dogs, going to Barnstormers Baseball Games and collected chess sets. Bob proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War.
He is survived by three sons, Robert M. Michener III and wife Donna of Conestoga, PA, Michael J. Michener and wife Karen of Mount Joy, PA and Dennis L. Michener and wife Julie of Ephrata, PA; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Leslie Michener and wife Edith of Las Vegas, NV and a sister, Sallie Ann wife of Raymond Brinkman of Hop Bottom, PA. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Paul Michener.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 2:30PM from Byerland Mennonite Church, 931 Byerland Church Road, Willow Street, PA 17584. Interment will be held in the adjoining church cemetery with military honors provided by the Red Rose Honor Guard and Vet 21 Salute. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service at the Church.
