Celebration of Life Services for Martha Maxine Gilley Farris 89, are set for 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church burial will be in Wheeler Grove Cemetery, Dr. Kara Blackard and Rev. Shane Evettes officiating, she joined her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven November 7, 2015 after an extended illness, she lived her life preparing for her Heavenly Home, was the youngest of three children born October 15, 1926 to A.V. and Alice Anderson Gilley, and widow of W.C. Farris whom she married August 23, 1947.

She was a member of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church and retired from the garment industry working for Garan Inc. and James Mitchell.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Farris was preceded in death by her husband, W.C Farris; an infant sister and sister, Gertrude Alderson and husband James C.; one brother: Sidney Gilley and wife Thelma; two nephews and four nieces.

Survivors include two sons, Prentiss Gale Mathis of Corinth and Roger Dale Farris and wife Martha of Southaven, MS; four grandchildren, Karen Crowson and husband Mike, Leighann Pruit, Michael Farris, Jennifer Marlin and husband Mike;eight great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
