--Shirley A. Butzin, 56, Peru, died Thursday, July 31, 2003, at Dukes Memorial Hospital.
--She was born Dec. 8, 1946, in Hyden, Ky., to Raleigh and Susie Lewis Baker. On May 8, 1964 she married Herman W. Butzin, Jr., in Peru, and he survives.
--Shirley was formerly employed at American Stationery, Peru, and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
--Other than her husband Herman, she is survived by a son, Herman W. Butzin, III, and his wife Teresa, Peru; one daughter, Carrie Minns and husband Michael, Peru; two brothers, James Baker and wife Nancy, Dyer, and Taylor Baker and wife Janice, Peru; and one sister, Oma Hudson and husband Larry, Peru. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Walter, Marvin, Burtis and William Baker.
--The funeral will be at St. John's Lutheran Church, 181 W. Main St., Peru, at 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 4, 2003, and Pastor Robert Koch will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Peru. Visitation will be 1-6 p.m., Sunday, at Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main St., Peru. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Muscular Dystrophy.
