Tommy Ray Stanley, 52, of Highlands, TX, went to be with the Lord Sunday, November 8, 2015, with his loving family by his side.

He graduated from Sterling High School in 1981 and as a young man enjoyed dirt track racing at Big H and Battleground Speedways where he won multiple track championships. In 1983 he and Carla, the love of his life, were married. He later stopped racing to coach little league and youth sports for his children. He was a volunteer for Highlands Fire Dept. and retired from Exxon after 23 years of service. He enjoyed spending his free time hunting, fishing, golfing, cooking and gardening, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Tommy became a believer in Christ in April 2011.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Carla Bond Stanley; parents, Kenneth and Brenda Stanley; daughter, Heather Vaughan and husband Ryan; sons, Kenny and Trent Stanly; grandchildren, Lyla, Lynnlee, Russell and Rhett Vaughn; brothers, Roy and Ricky Stanley; mother-in-law, Viola Bond; and numerous other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dayton. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Earthman Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 804 S. Cleveland St., Dayton, TX 77535. Interment will follow at Sterling-White Cemetery, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd., Highlands, TX 77562.
