MCLEANSVILLE LYNDA MAY ANDREWS, 72, OF McLeansville, died Friday, November 6, 2015, at her home with her loving family. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lambeth-Troxler, with her memorial service to follow at 12 p.m. in the Chapel. In accordance with her request, her body was donated for anatomical research through the Wake Forest Whole Body Donation Program.Lynda was born April 20, 1943, in Guilford County to W. McKinley and Blanche Corsbie May. After Lynda's mother died, she was cared for by Guy and Pearl Brown, until the time her father married Ollie May. Lynda graduated valedictorian from Alamance High School in 1961. After graduation, she worked at Blue Bell, Southern Life Insurance, General Boiler Casings, and Faye Lines. She attended the Greensboro division of Guilford College, where she met her future husband, Wallace Andrews. They were married in 1965. Lynda began work for the U.S. Postal Service as a clerk and substitute mail carrier at McLeansville Post Office, and later accepted a position as rural mail carrier at Sophia Post Office, and later retired from Spring Valley Station in Greensboro. She was a charter member of Northeast Baptist Church and taught Sunday school and helped as needed, especially in the library.She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 50 years, Wallace Andrews; a daughter, Paula Andrews Murphy (David) and grandchildren, Melanie, Michelle, Mark and Montana; a son, David M. Andrews; sisters, Marcia Jenkins (Richard), Barbara Durham Dark (Garland), Brenda Shropshire (Rick); brother, Ronnie May (June); and uncles J.C. Corsbie and Howard Lambert. Lynda was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Leo May.The family wishes to express their appreciation for her loving care to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell; her physician, Dr. Richard Letvak of Stoney Creek; and Lynda's caregivers over the years: Angela Kirkus, Sue Sheets, Lyndsey Turner, Felicia Pere, Mollie Rider, Joy Grubb, Cellie Smith, and Renae Oyler.
