VISITOR KILLED IN COLLISION
Markham man victim as auto and trolley crash -
Walter Henley, 46, of Dublin Street, Markham, was almost instantly killed, and his sister-in-law, Mildred Henley, 26, also of Markham, was injured when their motor car collided with a street car at 11:30 last night on Queen
Street, between Greenwood Avenue and Knox Avenue.
Henley was pronounced dead on admission to the emergency ward of St. Michael's Hospital. His sister-in-law was removed to East General Hospital. She suffered a fractured spine.
The car, a 13-year-old roadster, was proceeding east on Queen Street driven by Henley. It skidded and swerved onto the westbound rails and was struck broadside by a westbound Queen car operated by Lawrence Morin. The motor car was hurled 15 feet. The women were unconscious when lifted from the wreckage of the roadster, placed in an ambulance, and rushed to the hospital.
Street car men and citizens removed the body of Henley from the wreckage of the car and he was rushed in an ambulance to the hospital.
