JEFF VAUGHAN DIED MONDAY AT AGE OF 80 YEARS

Jeff Vaughan, lifelong resident of this (Tuscumbia) and the Bagnell communities, passed away at his home near Bagnell Monday at the age of 80 years, 9 months, and 16 days. He had been in ill health for the past year, but he had been bedfast for only about a month.
Jefferson David Vaughan, son of Joshua and Susan WYRICK Vaughan, was born in Moniteau county, March 26, 1863. When a small boy he came to this county with his parents, where he spent practically the remainder of his life.
When a young man he was marrried to Miss Martha Wyrick, who preceded him in death on December 12, 1937. To this union six children were born, all surviving--as follows; George, Jeff, Bill and Mrs Ann Robinett of Kansas City, Kansas, Mrs Hazel Holland of Hillsdale, Kansas and Mrs Susie Cox of the State of Arizonia.
He also leaves nine grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and one half-brother Wilson Vaughan of Tuscumbia.
When a young man Mr Vaughan professed faith in Christianity and united with the old Harmony Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J E Brown, pastor of the Eldon Baptist church. Interment was in the Tuscumbia Cemetery with Phillips Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
