Mrs. Townsend was a homemaker. She retired from the Van Buren Library. She attended Van Buren United Methodist Church and was a member of the American Legion Post #368 Auxilliary in Van Buren. She loved to read and do crossword puzzles, and also loved to sing. She was a lifelong resident of Van Buren.
Survivors include her son, Ben (Louann) Townsend, Van Buren; daughter, Nancy Wiggin, Van Buren; brother, Bill (Genny) Nyce, Endicott, N.Y.; granddaughters, Katie (Kevin) Wiggin, Brook (Michael) Moss, and Courtney (Jamie) Craig, all of Van Buren, and ; grandsons, Jack (Shawna) Wiggin, Marion, Matthew Townsend, Van Buren, great-grandsons Jacob Moss, and Parker Craig, both of Van Buren; great-granddaughters, Faith Wiggin, Marion and Emma Hicks, Van Buren.
