DALHART - Gene Atkinson, 90, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2000.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Gazebo in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Stephen Lowrie, pastor of First Baptist Church in Dalhart, officiating. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Home.
Mr. Atkinson was born in Byron, Okla., and in 1929, moved with his family to Moore County from Bartlesville, Okla. He later worked at Fourway and surrounding ranches and moved to Dalhart in 1952. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir and taught Sunday school.
He married Lily Crawford in 1935 at Sayer, Okla. She died in 1963.
Survivors include a son, G.M. Atkinson of Dalhart; and a grandchild.
The family suggests memorials be to Memorial Park Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
