Graveside services for Mr. Wallace Davidson, 88 of Beckville, Texas were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2011 at the Rock Hill Cemetery with Bro. John Gradberg officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mr. Davidson passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011 in Carthage, Texas.
Mr. Wallace Howell Davidson was born December 26, 1922 in the Rock Hill Community of Panola County, Texas. He was one of seven children born to the marriage of Augustus Howell and Zoe Ethel Chapman Davidson. Wallace was raised and attended schools in the rural Rock Hill community. Mr. Davidson served his country in the U. S. Navy, being trained as a pharmacist, then continued to serve in the U. S. Coast Guard and the National Guard. He married Lena Faye Osburn and they celebrated many years together. Mr. Davidson served many terms as the Beckville City Mayor, a constable, and he worked as a contractor for several years in the construction industry. Wallace was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Beckville. He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister
