Jack F. Ryan (Trapper) July 14, 1935- November 4, 2015

Jack died peacefully at his Pearl River home surrounded by his family. Jack was a fire fighter assigned to FDNY Ladder Company 120 Watkins Street in Brooklyn, 30 truck in Harlem, 27 truck in Bronx, NY and as Chief's Aide in the 56 battalion. Jack retired after 33 years of service at a job he considered family, and its' members his brothers.

Jack was born in Brooklyn, New York to Peter J. Ryan and Lucy Lenihan both of Elphin Co. Roscommon, Ire. Jack attended St. Gregory the Great Grammar School. He Graduated from St. Francis Prep High School.

On October 5, 1963, he married Maureen T. Woods at St. Catherine of Genoa Church in Brooklyn NY. For the past 50 years Jack and his family lived in Pearl River. Jack and his family spent many weekends and summers at his cabin in Andes, NY.

Jack will be remembered for his story telling, memory sharing, as well as his deer hunting adventures ergo "Trapper" He shared his love of the great outdoors with his family by camping from Maine to Florida and summer vacations in Virginia Beach and the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He and his wife traveled frequently and visited most of the National Parks in the U.S. and Canada.

He is survived by; his loving wife Maureen of 52 years, his children Jeanne Ryan, Peter Ryan, Patricia Kessaris (Greg), and Laura Lynch (Kevin), and his five grandchildren James McSwigin, Liam McSwigin, Michael Lynch, Luke Kessaris, and William Kessaris. He is predeceased by his parents and brother William J. Ryan.

Calling hours are from 2-4pm and 7-9pm Sunday November 8, 2015. A funeral mass will be held at St. Margaret of Antioch Roman Catholic Church, Pearl River, NY on Monday, November 9,2015 at 11:30. Internment is on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 Lew Beach Cemetery, Lew Beach, NY at 1:00 pm.
