She was born March 12, 1908, in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Walters) Jones. She was married to Thomas Markey, who preceded her in death in 1969.
She was a dedicated homemaker
Mrs. Markey was a member of St. Joseph Church, Danville, and the Happy Joes Club.
Surviving are her son, Brian Markey of Riverside; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Suzanne and Joseph Tinsley of Danville, M. Pamela Markey of Harrisburg, and Elizabeth Yvonne and James Spade of Landisburg; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, George W. and Walter Jones, and a sister, Ethel Mae Robinson.
Visitors may call from 9:30 am to 10:45 am Wednesday at the David J. Brady Funeral Home, 320 Church St., Danville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at St. Joseph Church, 18 E. Center Street, Danville, by the Rev. William Weary, her pastor.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Thomas Beaver Free Library, Market and Ferry Streets, Danville.
