Roberta "Minko" Chin passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2015.

She was born July 31, 1943 in Minidoka Internment Camp, Idaho to George Shintaro Kamaya and Shizuko Akiyama Kamaya. In 1945, Minko and her family were released from Minidoka Interment Camp and moved to Ontario, Oregon. In 1949, the family moved to Salt Lake City.

Minko's enjoyment was going to Wendover and playing poker and slot machines. Grocery shopping and going to lunch with family and friends were daily highlights.

She is survived by her husband, Sam Chin; sons, Jeffrey (Patrice) Chin and Clifford (Miriam) Chin; three grandchildren, C.J., Madison, and Brady; brothers and sisters, George (Kaz) Kamaya, Ruth Oda, Joe (Rose) Kamaya, Jane (Tom) Watanuki, and Uncle Mas (May) Akiyama; sister-in-law, In Sun (Lee) Kamaya; sister-in-law, King Siu Wong; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. Preceded in death by both parents, sister, Fumi, and brother-in-law, Jenshi Ogawa; brothers, Robert (Jun) Kamaya and James (Stone) Kamaya; sister-in-law, Carol Kamaya; brother-in-law, Kohae Oda; and three nephews.

A celebration of Minko's life will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Deseret Mortuary, 36 East 700 South.
Interment will be in the Salt Lake City cemetery at a later date.
