Elizabeth Anne Lane, daughter of Isaac and Rebecca Rohrabaugh, was born in Madison township, Carroll county, Indiana, March 16, 1849, and died at the home of her daughter, Laura Redding of Peru, March 23,, 1929, at the age of 80 years and seven days.

She was one of a family of ten children, only one of which survives. On February 22, 1866, she was united in marriage to Richard Lane, a Civil war veteran. To this union were born eight children, three of whom with the father have preceded her to the grave.

The surviving members of the family are: Ida Sagers of Delphi, Charles Lane of Lafayette, Laura Redding of Peru, Dr. Willard Lane of Camden and Burton Lane of Pompano, Florida; thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Alice Heggardon of Indianapolis and a host of friends and relatives who mourn her departure.

Her entire life has been spent in Carroll county and the vicinity of Delphi where she has been a familiar figure for the last half century.

She was a true and devoted wife, a loving and exemplary mother, and one who was loved and respected by all who knew her.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Sagegs, con ducted by Rev. Wilsorf of the Peru Christian church, assister by Rev. O. P. Manker; interment in Masonic cemetery.
