MACPHAIL, C. Gordon - On February 21, 1980, at K-W Hospital, in his 83rd year, Gordon MacPhail, of 220 Lydia St., Kitchener, was born in Woodstock, Ont., Dec. 6, 1897. Son of the late Angus and Charlotte (Wahl) MacPhail. Survived by his wife, the former Edith L. Schneider; two daughters, Jean of Etobicoke, Marion and son-in-law Michael E. Woeller of Kitchener; grandchildren, Roger and wife Debbie of Ottawa, Jeffrey, Jean and John, all of Kitchener; one sister Mrs. Kathleen Mulveney of Hamilton; one brother John of Cambridge. He was predeceased by one brother of Ohio and two sisters, of Cambridge.

He was proprietor and operator of MacPhail Engravers, Queen Street S., Kitchener, until his retirement. He served overseas during the First World War and was with the reserve in the Second World War as an officer in the Scotts Fusiliers. He belonged to several service clubs during his business years. He was an honorary member of the Kitchener Rotary Club. Past master of Cambridge Grand Arch Masons, he received his jewel as past master for 50 years in 1978. He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd.

Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, after 7 p.m. on Friday. The family will not be present. Funeral service will be held at the Ratz-Bechtel Chapel on Saturday, 2 p.m., Rev. David Woeller will be officiating in the absence of Rev. Paul Zacharias. The committal service will be in Mount Hope cemetery. Donations to the Rotary Children's Centre may be given as expressions of sympathy.1a
