Gwendolyn Marrilynn Adams, 75 of Duncan, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2015 at Duncan Regional Hospital. Marrilynn was born November 8, 1940 at Bray, Oklahoma to Daniel T. and Suzan Hix Newsome.

She was a graduate of Duncan High School and had earned her Masters Degree in Art. She married her high school sweetheart, Gary L. Adams on July 23, 1960 here in Duncan where they both called home. Marrilynn was an artist having received national and international recognition for her work and a member of All Saints Episcopal Church.

Marrilynn is survived by her husband of 55 years, Gary L. Adams, a daughter Suzanne Adams of Edmond, Oklahoma, two grandchildren Alexandria Tanabe of Edmond, Oklahoma and Solomon Daniel Adams-Steffee of Edmond, Oklahoma, one great grandchild Wintyr Tanabee and a sister-in-law Kathy Adams-Meadows of Duncan, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Suzan Newsome and three brothers.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the All Saints Episcopal Church, Duncan with the Rev. Anita Slovak officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery, Marlow, Oklahoma under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home, Duncan. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
