Hazel was born November 11, 1916 to Edward and Lydia Heathington in Maybelle, TX. Preceded in death by her sister Ruby Warren on October 21, 1998 and her granddaughter, Kristin Jennifer Lambert. Hazel is survived by her sister, Helen Shelton and her husband Bass; her daughters Rita O'Conner, Phyllis Ratliff, Shirley Dreaden and her husband Reed; and Freddye Lambert and her husband Vincent. Hazel leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
Hazel was a member of the Elk Grove Church of Christ and was employed for 23 years at the Sacramento Army Depot. She was active in the lives of her family and friends; she will be greatly missed.
