Thelma Benge, age 75, of London, KY, died Sunday, July 4, 2010, at St. Joseph – London. Born September 3, 1934, in Clay County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Steve and Lillie Minton Martin. She was the widow of Wm. H. Hensley, Edward Westerfield and Chester Benge.
Survivors include twelve children: William Hensley and wife, Rita, of Manchester, KY, Johnny Westerfield and wife, Rita, of London, KY, Judy Westerfield of Corbin, KY, Stevie Westerfield, David Westerfield and wife, Karen, Donnie Westerfield, and Jesse Westerfield, all of London, KY, Ruby Anders and husband, Kevin, of Corbin, KY, Glenn Benge and wife, Monica, Jane Benge, Joetta Benge and Marietta Benge, all of London, KY, one sister: Minnie Hammons of London, KY, two brothers: Charlie Martin and wife, Bonnie, of London, KY and Chester Martin of Lexington, KY, sixteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Salem Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 8, 2010, in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Harlan Avera and Wayne House officiating. Burial will follow in the Benge Cemetery at London, KY.
