Greg was born on June 19, 1948, in Huron, South Dakota to Henry and Ruth Harm. He attended Burbank high school, graduating in 1966. Greg attended UCSD for two years, University of Gottingen in Germany, for one year, graduating from the University of South Dakota with a degree in History. After graduating, Greg opted to enlist in the US Marine Corps after receiving a draft notice from the US Army, where he was on active duty for 22 years; during this time he received a master's degree in Systems Analysis from the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey.
Greg will forever be loved by those he left behind. At the time of his death he was surrounded by his wife, family and friends in his San Diego home.
A memorial service will be held at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Drive, San Diego, California on November 10, 2015 at 11a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Major Gregory Lee Harm to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Please consider designating specifically "for bladder cancer research" or feel free to contribute to a charity of your preference.
