Arleen was a 1942 graduate of Washington University, majoring in English and French and was selected to Phi Sigma Iota, the Romance Language Honorary. Arleen was especially proficient in all facets of the English language. Her writing skills were exemplary in vocabulary, in the nuances of words, and the impeccable mechanics of sentence structure. She left us a body of work of poetry, prose essays, and tributes to many on special celebrations. Arleen was a truly dedicated Mother and wonderful role model to her children always stressing excellence, teaching them values, manners, character and guiding them to reach their potential. She was known for her beauty, both inside and out, her warmth, vivacious personality, kindness and selflessness. She loved to make people happy, both in words and in deeds. Arleen was a lifelong member of Congregation Shaare Emeth, National Council of Jewish Women, Hadassah, Miriam and the Jewish Hospital Auxiliary.
Funeral service Tuesday, November 10th, 10:30 AM at Congregation Shaare Emeth, Ladue and Ballas Roads. Visitation Tuesday at 10 AM. Interment at Beth Hamedrosh Hagodol Cemetery, 9125 Ladue Road.
