YOUNG MAN DIES OF PNEUMONIA
Son of Steffen Steffens, Living North of the City, Passed Away Early Sunday Morning at His Home.
John Steffens, the sixteen year old son of Steffen Steffens and wife, living north of the city, passed away at the home Sunday morning at 5:15 o'clock at the age of 16 years, 7 months, and 24 days. The death was caused by pneumonia, after an illness of two weeks. The funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon at on o'clock at the home of his father, Steffen Steffens, and interment will be made in the Atlantic cemetery. Rev. Dettmann of the German Evangelical church of this city will officiate.
Deceased was born in Audubon county on a farm, where his parents lived at the time. Later, the family moved to this county, and for the past twelve years, have lived near this city. The mother of deceased died three years ago. He attended the country schools but the past year has been assisting his father in the work of the farm. Beside his father, he leaves to mourn his death, three brothers and seven sisters, and a host of friends who sympathize with the stricken family in their bereavement.
