Harrison McKane, 86, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Samuel Dempsey, 720 Sassafras Street, at 10:20 pm Thursday from the infirmities of old age after ill health of some time, 6 weeks in serious condition. He was born in Rockland township on January 20, 1838.
He spent his entire life in this area, and for the past 30 years he lived in Franklin. He was a man of clean habits and, until a few months ago, had the appearance of a man many years younger. He was well known over the county, and highly esteemed due to his sterling character. He was a life-long member of Pine Hill Church of God.
Surviving are children, Mrs. Samuel Dempsey of Franklin, Mrs. William Bruner and Mrs. Arthur Cook of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Braden McKinley of near Polk, Miss Pearl McKane of Greenville, Albert McKane of Franklin, and Louis of Titusville; 19 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 pm Sunday at the Dempsey home with Rev. Mendal B. Miller officiating. Interment will be in the Melat Cemetery in Rockland township.
