Frederick F. Dremann passed away May 1, 1998.

He was born in Walnut, Illinois May 10, 1905 and grew up on the family farm there in Bureau County. Fred and his brother Homer (deceased) and sister Geraldine Weller (Princeton, Illinois) were the children of Frank and Martha Dremann. He reminisced that as a child, he was taken to see "Buffalo Bill and his Wild West Show", and remembered reading of the Poncho Villa raids on the Southwest. Fred's schooling began in a one-room school house in the country, traveling there by horse back or buggy. He graduated from Walnut High School where he played on the football and baseball teams, was yearbook editor and class valedictorian. Fred attended the University of Illinois where he met his sweetheart and wife of 67 years, Emily Kraemer.

He was a member of Gamma Eta Gamma law student fraternity, and graduated in 1929 with his law degree.

Fred and Emily moved to Salt Lake City in 1930 where he began practicing law. He was Chief Legal Counsel for the Department of Employment Security for 29 years.

Fishing, hunting, golf, cooking, playing bridge and gardening were his favorite activities. He was especially proud of his roses. He was a lifetime member of The University of Illinois Allumni and the Utah State Bar Association. Fred also belonged to the Flat Rock Fishing Club and Fort Douglas/Hidden Valley Country Club. He accomplished a hole-in-one there at the age of 85.

"Dad", "Gramps", is survived by his daughter Zoe Richardson and husband Lon; his son Paul and wife Brent; six grandchildren, Dana, Lon III, Brock, Heidi, Jennifer and Andrea; and seven great-grandchildren. He was always actively involved in the lives of his children and his grandchildren as a mentor, best friend and counselor.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute to the Henry's Fork Foundation, P.O. Box 61, Island Park, ID 83429 or to the charity of one's choice.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 5 at the Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 E. 100 South, followed by a private interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may meet with the family prior to the service.
