Lound, Donald James Sr. 75, of Mears, died Oct 29, 2012. He was born June 3, 1937, in Shelby to Paul & Anna (Haviland) Lound. He married Shirley Schaner on March 2, 1957 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in Hart. She preceded him in death on February 3, 1976. He married Charlene May VanDenHeuvel Greiner on February 5, 1981, at St. Gregory Catholic Church in Hart. She preceded him in death on April 23, 2009. Don was the owner and salesman at Cheevers until his retirement in 1999. He was also a farmer and produced cherries, asparagus, and Christmas trees. He was a member of Hart Area Fire Department, the Shelby Optimist Club, a member and past board member Michigan Agribusinessmen. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and spending time in the Upper Peninsula in Munising and Sidnaw.
Donald is survived by two daughters, Deborah (Jack) Mitteer of Shelby, and Julie (Craig) Klooster of Wyoming, Michigan; three sons, Paul (Kathy) Lound and Timothy (Norene) Lound, all of Shelby, and Donald (Diane) Lound, Jr. of Mason, Michigan; step-daughters, Karyn (Thomas) Abrahamson of Ludington, and Ronda (Paul) Pek of North Muskegon; step-son, Christopher Greiner of Morenci, Michigan; seven sisters, Mary Ann (Vaughn) Mead of Shelby, Karen Henderson of Montague, Jeanne (George) Schaller of Midland, Joanne Lound of New Era, Christine (Rod) Wyns of Grand Haven, Catherine Lound of Shelby, and Sharon Lound of Shelby; one brother, Richard (Chris) Lound of Shelby; fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wives; a son, Michael Lound, and daughter, Susan Lound; and two brothers, Paul Lound, Jr., and Martin Lound. Hart Cemetery
