Mrs. Grace Hughes Nix, 90, wife of the late Ed Nix, of 385 Flat Shoals Road, Salem, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca.
A native of Walhalla, Mrs. Nix was the daughter of the late J. B. and Minnie Wilson Hughes. She was a retired assembly line worker for Sangamo in West Union and of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Hughes is survived by her sons: Bobby Nix of Westminster and Billy Nix of Salem; daughter: Carrie “Pat” Marcengill of Seneca; brother: Harold Hughes of Santa Fe, TX; sisters: Ruth Sanders of Blenheim, SC, Shirley Carter of Westminster; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son, Wayne Nix; brothers: Charles, Lester, James Edward, Ray, and Junior Hughes; sister: Wilma Hendrix Buchanan.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 11, 2013 at North Walhalla Church of God Cemetery. Offficiating is Rev. Leon Lusk.
