Melissa Ann (Brawner) Edwards, 48, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away November 6, 2015, in Memphis, Tennessee.
She was born on April 29, 1967, in Paragould, Arkansas, and was the daughter of John and Pat (Rosson) Brawner.
She was united in marriage to Marlin Steve Edwards on May 23, 1987, and to this union three daughters were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on August 2, 2006.
Melissa graduated from Piggott High School in 1985 and earned a Nursing degree from Arkansas State University in 1990. She has worked with the home health division of the Piggott Community Hospital since 1997 and she was recently promoted to the Director of Home Health for the Piggott Community Hospital helping patients in many nearby communities.
She is survived by her three daughters: Andrea Nanney and husband Brian of Piggott, Arkansas, Kendra Edwards of Piggott, Arkansas, and Shana Edwards and Ethan Burns of Piggott, Arkansas; parents, John and Pat Brawner of Piggott, Arkansas; two grandchildren: Cohen and Kinsley Nanney; sister, Johniece Brawner of Huntsville, Alabama; brother, Justin Oliver and wife Crystal of Piggott, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 9, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Chris Brantley officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Sunday, November 8, 2015, at 5:00 p.m.
