Elaine Irene Lee of Menlo Park, California, formerly of Evanston, Illinois, age 92, died May 30, 2001 at University Nursing Home, Palo Alto, California. Born September 15, 1908 in Chicago, IL to Ernest Martin and Clara Voigt Schellenberg Vonachen. Married Paul W. Kunning August 31, 1939 in Chicago. He died February, 1962 and is buried in New Bremen, Ohio. Married J. Owen Lee April 24, 1965 in Redwood City, California. He died April 29, 1977 and is in Acacia Park Cemetery in Chicago.
In her younger years she was a model for Carson, Pirie Scott & Co. in Chicago. Surviving are one step-daughter, Janet Lee of Menlo Park and several cousins including Carol Sluser Lawless, Bert Sluser, Richard Sluser, Mary Lou Boettger, Ruth Ann Boettger Brewer, Robert Boettger, and Thomas Boettger.
Cremation has been accorded and graveside burial of ashes was August 2, 2001 at Springdale Cemetery, Peoria, IL.
Arrangements were by Menlo Colonial Chapel, 657 Oak Grove Avenue, Menlo Park, CA and Wright & Salmon Mortuary, Peoria, IL
