Howard Miller, age 80, loving husband of 59yrs to Stella VanWinkle Miller died Saturday, November 07, 2015 at Berea Health and Rehabilitation. Mr. Miller was born in Disputania, KY to the late John and Georgia Mason Miller. He was a carpenter and of the Baptist faith and veteran of the U.S. Army. Howard exemplified his Christianity and set the example for his family by loving Stella, his sons grandchildren and great grandchildren with all of his heart. His favorite past time was sitting on the deck watching the world go by.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sandra, his grandson; Jeremy Miller and his siblings; Edward and Kenneth Miller, Margie Powell, Nina Townsend, Ella Key and Della Graham.
Other than his wife he is survived by his sons, Rev. Wayne (Shawna) Miller, of Berea, KY Randy (Pam) Miller of Florence, KY. And Danny (Tammy) Miller of Mt. Vernon, KY. A sister, Mayme Reed of Tuckerman, Arkansas. His grandchildren; Jason Miller, Faith Miller, Jenny Miller, Madisan Miller, Logan Miller, Sadie Powell, Garrett Powell. Great grandchildren, Christian Duff and Melissa Duff. And a special nephew he considered his own, Greg (Gayle) Powell.
Services will be. 2:00pm Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at the Davis & Powell Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill VanWinkle officiating. Burial will follow in the Chasteen Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers will be, Jason Miller, Logan Miller, Garrett Powell, Jeff VanWinkle, Ray Abrams, Rick Miller, Kenny Murphy and Jason White. Honorary Pallbearers are, Barkley VanWinkle, Jenny Miller, Faith Miller, Madisan Miller, Sadie Powell, Christian Duff and Melissa Duff. Visitation will be Monday, from 5-9 pm at the funeral home.
