Obituary
Lodicia Violet King was born at Hillsdale, Lucas County, Michigan, April 8th, 1850, and died at her home in Sheridan, Missouri, October 2d, 1915, aged 65years, 5 months arid 24 days. She came west to Taylor county, Iowa, when a child. She united with the Baptist church when twelve year [s] of age and remained a true and faithful Christian until death. She was united in marriage to Marion [Francis] Cordell in l865. To this union was born six children of which two are deceased. Those living are Mrs. Flora Godsey, Sheridan; Mrs.Sarah Godsey, Hopkins, and Mrs. Ida Calkins and Mrs. Bertha Winemiller, of Sheridan, Missouri. She also raised two grandchildren, Alice and Viola Biggerstaff. She leaves a husband, five sisters and two brothers and thirty grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn her loss. She moved with her husband to Sheridan in 1910 and lived there until death came.
Funeral services were conducted from the Sheridan Christian church by Eld. W. M. Hunt, assisted by Rev. Harmon, pastor of the church.
