Rev.Dr. John Cralle Long was Professor of Theology and practicing preacher first at the University of Virginia and then at Crozer Theological Seminary in Chester, Pennsylvania. He and his wife, Josephine Hardin Ragland, had 6 children. They lived in Crozer during school sessions and used Triple Oaks, Elon, Virginia, as their summer home. He wrote many articles for the Baptist papers. According to many obituaries in the Virginia papers, his funeral cortege left Charlottesville by train, then reassembled at the Long Family graveyard at Oak Grove in Elon, Amherst, VA, where he was buried. He is the same person as memorial #93364839.
