Gladys C. Dickson, 96, of Kearney died Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Mt. Carmel Home in Kearney.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Kearney. The casket will be closed. Rev. Meg Sander will officiate and burial will be at Kearney Cemetery. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney are in charge of arrangements.

Gladys was born October 19, 1919 to Johann Fredrick and Clara (Ruhs) Braams at their home near Hildreth in Kearney County. She grew up on the farm and graduated from Hildreth High School in 1935.

She moved to Kearney and worked as a nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital. She then worked at various doctors’ offices. She received her LPN license in 1956. Later her career took her back to Good Samaritan Hospital for 20 years. In 1991 she turned to private duty nursing which she did until retiring in 2008.

On June 18, 1965 she married Lloyd Dickson in Kearney. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Kearney.

Surviving relatives include nieces, Sharon Hasty and Jane Vandenberg both of Kearney and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1978; sisters, Alice Hasty and Doris Porter.
