He was born March 20, 1938, to William Brown and Willard(Bennett) Brown in Russell County, Kentucky.
He married Sandra(Wells)Brown on Dec. 31, 1965, and she survives. Other survivors include three sons; Scott Brown of Germantown, Tennessee; Greg Wells of Shelbyville; and Jeff Shearer of Shelbyville; two daughters, Christina Royer of New Palestine and Kim Shearer; two sisters, Ann Stiers of Shelbyville and Lilah Sutton of Russell Springs, Kentucky; 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Brown had lived in the area for 66 years, after moving from Kentucky.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator at Shelby Materials
for 10 years.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, Shelbyville, IN 46176.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, at the funeral home, with Chaplain Gary Scott officiating.
Burial will be at Miller Cemetery in Shelby County.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.
