ANNA - Carl J. Leonard, 80, died at 3:45 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at his residence. He was born in Mounds on Oct. 6, 1929, the son of Clarence and Rita (Chestney) Leonard. Carl married Flossie Coulter on Feb. 7, 1956, in Union County. He retired after working for E. T. Simmons for more than 20 years. He was a member of Teamsters Local 347. Survivors include his wife, Flossie Leonard of Anna; four daughters, Alice (Lloyd) McCann of Anna, Brenda (Kim) Albers of Dongola, Mary Wolfe of Murphysboro and Patty Roach of Parken, Ark.; nine grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one brother, Eugene Leonard of Joppa. He was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Dakota Pennington. Funeral services for Carl J. Leonard will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, in Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Pastor Paul Tirey officiating. Interment will be in the Ebenezer Hall Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Union County Hospital. Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro is in charge of the arrangements.
