Kathy A. Kennedy, 63, of Shelbyville, died on Thursday, the 5th day of November, 2015, at her residence. Born in Floyd County, she was a former employee of Coca-Cola in Kansas City, Missouri, and a childcare provider. A faithful and active member of the St. James Episcopal Church, sewing, gardening, and cooking were her favorite hobbies and pastimes. She was preceded in death by three of her children, Jimmy, Carol Faye, and Christopher.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Kennedy of Clearwater, Florida; her mother and stepfather, Kathryn Martin Currens and Eugene Currens of Shelbyville; her brother, John Martin of Shelbyville, Her sisters, Tammy Pavey of Frankfort, and Jackie Wolford of Shelbyville; her two grandchildren, Patrick Flaherty and Travis Lockett; her two great-grandchildren, Stella and Tahlia; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 P.M., Saturday, the 7th day of November, 2015, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Shelbyville, with Reverend Richard Galloway officiating. Private family committal service and interment will be Sunday at Davidson Memorial Gardens in Ivel, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M., until service time, and after the service until 8:00 P.M., Saturday, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Shelbyville. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the St. James Episcopal Church of Shelbyville.
