On May 18, 1928, Faye Louise Florence Anderson, the last of seven children, and the only girl, was born unto Herbert Anderson and Louise Catherine Dunnell-Anderson. As a child starting off her life in the Great Depression, she had said that times were hard but there was never a shortage of love. Faye went to high school at Brainerd Washington High, class of 1946, Brainerd, Minnesota, and was a member of the Marching Band.

In 1947, she married Orville Gorron, and was blessed with a daughter the next year, Susan Gayle Gorron. The following year, a baby boy was born, Darrel Eugene "Butch" Gorron. The family lived in Brainerd until they moved to a small farm five miles south of Brainerd.

With the end goal of one day becoming self-sufficient, Faye was very involved with all aspects of developing small dairy farming. Faye was a member of the Busy Bee Homemakers Club, and an active supporter of the Buffalo Creek 4H Club. When they were done farming, they traveled to Alaska to settle in the Fairbanks area.

While in Fairbanks, Faye enjoyed watching dogsled races and going to the World Eskimo-Indian Olympics, something she often spoke of.

In Fairbanks, she worked for J.C. Penney in the catalog department. She also lived in Oklahoma to spend time with Susan, eventually moving into assisted living at Edgewood Vista. The most important thing in her life was family, of whom she had unconditional love.

She is survived by one son, Butch; two grandsons, Rodger and Adam Rodgers; one granddaughter, Jennifer Coley; six great-granddaughters, Molly, Mallory, Kelsey, Macie, Bailey and Kayla; two great-grandsons, Russell and Luke; and five great-great-grandchildren, Armani, Kenslee, Mariah, Trinity and Waylon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville; her daughter, Susan; her parents and six brothers.

Faye passed on Sept. 23, 2015, at the Quiet Oaks Hospice House in Saint Cloud, Minnesota, and will be laid to rest at the Evergreen Cemetery next to her husband, Orville, and daughter, Susan.

Services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, Oct. 3, with visitation beginning at 11am, Saturday at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd, Minnesota. Published in Daily News-Miner on Sept. 30, 2015
