SANDERS, Ky. โ€“ Roger Terry Owen, 56, of Sanders, died Friday, Aug. 18, 2006, at his residence.

Funeral services were Monday, Aug. 21, at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, 213 Fifth St., Carrollton, Ky., with the Rev. Craig Boley officiating. Burial was in the Ghent Masonic Cemetery, Ghent, Ky.

Mr. Owen was born Oct. 30, 1949, in Sparta, Ky., the son of the late William and Myrtle (Welch) Owen.

He attended school at Carroll County High School.

He was employed at the Texas Dept. of Corrections. He had been a police officer in Carrollton in 1972, and had also been a deputy sheriff for Carroll County in 1976.

He was an Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War and the Gulf War.

Survivors include two daughters, Terri and Amy Owen; two brothers, Harold and William Carl Owen, three sister, Rena Reed, Virginia Shields and Leta Woods; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, William Bernard Owen and Raymond Bayne Owen; and a sister, Nona Faye Beach.

Pallbearers were Rick Alexander, Joey Beach, Steve and Carl Owen, Denny Vannarsdall and Wade Judge.

Roger Terry Owen, 56, of Sanders, died Friday at his residence. He was a police officer and deputy sheriff for Carroll County, an Army veteran of the Vietnam and Gulf Wars, and a member of the Texas Department of Corrections.

Survivors include daughters, Terri Owen and Amy Owen; brothers, Harold Owen and William Carl Owen; sisters, Rena Reed, Virginia Shields, and Leta Woods; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, Carrollton. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ghent Masonic Cemetery.
