WOOD RIVER- Heather Lee McCoy, 16 of Wood River, was pronounced dead at 4:45 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 1987, at Wood River Township Hospital, following an automobile accident on Route 159 near Moro Bridge.

Heather was born in Alton, the daughter of Thomas Eugene McCoy of Springfield and Coy Ann Lewis of Wood River.

She would have been a senior at East Alton-Wood River High School this fall.

Surviving, in addition to her parents, are two sisters, Holly and Heidi McCoy, both of Wood River; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Hatfield of West Alton, Mo.; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sheary of Godfrey; and great-grandmothers, May Klopmeier of Wood River, Hazel McCoy of East Alton and Marie Hatfield of West Alton, Mo.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Sunday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Melvin Naylor officiating.

Burial will be in Woodland Hill Cemetery in Wood River.
Memorials may be given to the East Alton-Wood River High School Oiler Band.
