Fred passed away May 16, 2015 at age 96 at a care center due to heart failure. Born in Harrisburg, Illinois. Proceeded in death by youngest son, Gary, 1977 & his wife, Charlotte, 1993. Served in combat during WWII in Normandy, North Africa, Italy & Germany. Worked in the salt mines reacquiring German stolen war treasures. Received 1 purple heart, 2 bronze stars & numerous other awards. Returned to Seattle after the war & worked for Gallagher Motors. Moved to Spokane - owned a Texaco station. Returned to Seattle in 1952. Worked for Boeing until retirement in 1981 at age 62. After retirement enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, & gardening. In the fall of 2008 moved to the Foundation House in Bothell. Survived by his brother, Hank Burns, his oldest son, Mark Burns & daughter-in-law, Beverly Burns. Fred's request - no funeral. In his memory, donate to your favorite charity .
