Carlie Ann Davis, 85, was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on September 11, 1930 to Eldon Lloyd Horton and Jessie Ann Thompson Horton. Carlie died Wednesday, November 4, 2015 in Carthage, Texas.
Carlie came from a large family of seven brothers and three sisters. She married Linnie Davis on March 30, 1948. Together they had one daughter, Vickie Lynn, who died shortly after birth, and one son, Allen. The family lived in Wichita Falls, and later moved to Graham, Texas in 1960. In 1992, Carlie moved to Longview to be close to her son and family. Carlie was a homemaker for most of her life, and volunteered as a “pink lady” at the hospital in Graham. She was always a good and kindhearted friend, and always concerned about others’ wellbeing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Linnie Davis; three sisters, Carol, Beverly, and Barbara; and four brothers, Eldon Jr., James, Jerry, and Dale.
Carlie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Pam of Longview; one grandson, Brandon of Hawkins; her brothers, Philip Horton of Cedar Hill, Missouri, Glen Horton of Monahans, Texas, and Wayne Horton of Wichita Falls; and several nephews and nieces.
