Mr. Lawrence Griffin was born in Carthage, MS; on January 22, 1934, to the late, Lent, and Lula Griffin.
He departed this life on November 2, 2015, at Attala County Nursing Home, Kosciusko, MS.
He received his education in the Attala County School District. He attended school in Jackson, MS, where he became a barber. He also worked as a construction worker.
Mr. Griffin joined Delydia Hill M. B. Church at an early age.
He was united in holy matrimony to Johnnie Mae Thierry of Tulsa, OK; and to this union, five children were born, Rickey, Dickey, Johnnie Dale, Randy, and Steven.
Mr. Griffin was later united in holy matrimony to Mary Louise Miller from Kosciusko, MS; and in this union, five children were born, Mary, Lonnie, Marsha, and the late, Bonnie and Tommie Griffin.
To cherish his memory five sons, Rickey Griffin; Dickey (Laurie) Griffin; Randy Griffin and Steven (Cynthia) Griffin all of Tulsa, OK; Lonnie (Tracy Wingard) Griffin, Kosciusko, MS; three daughters, Johnnie Dale, Tulsa, OK; Mary "Lou" Griffin, Kosciusko, MS; and Marsha Knox, Lewisville, TX; twenty-five grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
His parents, Lent and Lula Griffin, grandson, Christian J. Griffin; brothers, Obie, Lent, Jr., Jack, Curtis, Cleotha, and Bryon Griffin; sisters, Gertrude LeFlore, Catherine McGary, and Mary Lee Harris, all proceeded him in death.
