Della Mae (Parris) McDaniel is the daughter of George Washington and Mariah J. (Bush) Paris. She married Lewis Ellison "Daws" McDaniel on May 8, 1894, in Macon County, Missouri. They settled in Scotland County, Missouri, where they farmed in Vest Township, later living for many years on Missouri Avenue at the north edge of Memphis. They raised three sons: Ernest Edwin, Ellis Alvin, and Aaron Augustine. Note: Della's maiden name is alternatively spelled Paris and Parris.
