Charles W. Layton, 86, of Allentown, died on Monday, November 2, 2015 at Phoebe Nursing Home in Allentown. He was the husband of Doris H. (Wenzl) Layton. The couple celebrated 45 years of marriage on September 3rd. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Charles and Catherine (Heiser) Layton. Charles worked at the Lehigh Valley Post Office for many years until his retirement.
Survivors: Wife; Children, Donald K. Layton of Allentown and Wendy D. Allwine of Schnecksville; and Sisters, Ruth Shirock and Betty Sinkbile. He was preceded in death by 3 siblings.
Services: 2 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 17th & Hamilton Streets, Allentown. A viewing will be held on Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Allentown will be private.
