Owen E Rathbun, son of Thomas A Rathbun and Harriet W Bacon, married Bessie Joy Myott on May 29, 1900. He worked as an oil well driller in the Los Angeles area. Owen passed away from complications of typhoid fever and was buried in Hollywood Cemetery per his California State death certificate.

RATHBUN In Los Angeles August 12, Owen A Rathbun, aged 33 years. Funeral from the chapel of Pierce Bros & Co. No 810 South Flower. August 15 at 2 pm. Interment, Hollywood Cemetery.

Published in the Los Angeles Times, August 14, 1910.

After Owen's death in 1910, Bessie married Frank Ellsworth Foster on July 22, 1915 in Orange County, California. Owen and Bessie's daughter, Vera Theodora Rathbun (1904-1983) is buried with her mother in Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
