Sutton, NH - Clark M. Davis, 84, of Morse Lane, died Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Concord, NH. He was born in Concord, NH on Sept. 11, 1931 the son of Robert and Vernal (Morse) Davis.
He attended Warner Elementary School and graduated from Simonds Free High School in 1949.
Clark worked at Sears in Concord from 1950-1960 and then went into business for himself in plumbing, heating and building construction. Working with Cliff Ayer on many projects taught Clark the art of finish carpentry. At the age of 40, he returned to school and graduated with honors from the two year forestry program at the University of NH Thompson School. From there Clark got a job with the State of NH as a District Ranger for 20 years.
He had been a member of the Newbury Harbor Mens Club which ran weekly Bingo and donated the earnings back to the town to repair the Newbury Church steeple and update the Veterans Hall. He was a member of the Newbury Fire Department for over 20 years and served as chief for 12 years and had also been a Deputy Forest Fire Warden. Clark had been instrumental in providing starter homes for his three children.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Evelyn (Croteau) Davis; his daughter, Holly Davis Meyrick and her husband, Michael of Edgewater, FL, son, Jeffrey Davis of Haines City, FL and son, John Davis of Sutton, NH; also several cousins whom he dearly loved.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Morse Cemetery, Morse Lane, Warner, NH.
