He was born March 13, 1936, in Brush Creek Township, the son of the late Franklin R. and Betty (Nesbitt) Rose. In addition to his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jamie Lynn Rose; great-grandsons, Zane and Zack Sheets; and sister, Barbara Ann Rose.
Lloyd graduated from Irondale High School in 1954 and from Jefferson Community College with an associate degree in business. He was previously employed as a laborer at Salsbury Brickyard in Irondale and as a foreman at TRW Metals and PCC Airfoil in Minerva. He also served as a trustee for Brush Creek Township. Lloyd was an enthusiastic farmer, hunter, and fisherman. He was a member of Grant Hill United Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Carrol A. (Boals) Rose, whom he married Jan. 11, 1955; one daughter: Trudy L. Spreainde and her husband, Frank, of Hammondsville; four sons: Timothy V. Rose and his wife, Karen, of Toronto, Scott D. Rose and his wife, Brenda, of Salineville, Chris A. Rose of Hammondsville, and Bryan R. Rose and his wife, Brenda, of Salineville; one sister: Carol McLain and her husband, Glen, of Toronto; and one brother: Curtis R. Rose and his wife, Joan, of Hammondsville. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren: Danielle Sheets, Shane Rose, Brandy Buchanan, Benjamin Rose, Jacob Rose, Jason Rose, Elizabeth Rose, Cody Rose, Nickolas Rose, Sheena (Rose) Hayes, Emily Russell, Candy Poynter, Joseph Spreainde, and Amanda Spreainde; eighteen great-grandchildren: Jennifer Sheets, Ricky Sheets, William Jenkins, Isabella Jenkins, Chad Rose, Nolan Buchanan, Travis Rose, Grant Rose, Brody Rose, Maliah Rose, Cadenance Rose, Adelynn Rose, Dakota Rose, Logan Rose, Ella Rose, Kaylynn Hayes, Aylesia Deely, and Landon Russell; and two great-great-grandchildren: Dylan Myers and Layken Bellum.
